Eline and Justin shine in their new home, not only because of Sunware
Finding an affordable, nice home. It is quite a task for first-time buyers at the moment. And if you do find something, the space is often quite limited. But a lack of square metres does not have to be a problem. Certainly not if you organise and store things cleverly. This is how our Comfort Line products helped brand-new homeowners Eline and Justin with their storage challenge. They tell you all about it.Eline (28) and Justin (31) have just moved in together in a cosy and snug little house in Gilze. Eline: ‘Justin and I have known each other for about ten years. We both worked at an Indian restaurant in Breda, where we are from. He in the kitchen, I behind the bar. We often chatted through the naan exit hatch.’ Justin: ‘At first about going out and our studies. But I soon noticed that I liked her better. Apparently it was mutual, because she opened the hatch more and more often. After years of circling each other, we have been a couple since late 2021.’
Eline: ‘We have a great time together. So at the end of last year, we decided to take the next step. We started looking for a house to buy. And that wasn't easy. There were few houses within our budget on the market. But after a long search, we found a nice terraced house in Gilze. We got the key in February. It is small but nice. And we are extremely happy with it.’
Merging two households
Before the lovebirds moved out, they had been living on their own for several years. Justin: ‘That meant we had to merge two households. Of course, I had a lot less stuff than Eline. But it was still a lot. Too much for a modest-sized house. We got rid of most of it in the meantime, thanks to Marktplaats and thrift shops. But we also have a lot of stuff we want to keep. Eline has a collection of clothes. I don't think she has worn most of it for ten years. Still, she wants to keep it.’ Eline laughingly responds, ‘How many records do you have? While your record player doesn't even work.’Fan of Sunware
Clearly, the two can take something from each other. Fortunately, the boxes they keep their things in can also take a beating. ‘We became quite a fan of Sunware in a short time,’ confesses Eline. ‘There was all sorts of stuff lying around the house. I was completely fed up with that. I searched online for strong, durable and affordable storage boxes. And I ended up at Sunware. I have no shares, but those boxes from the Comfort Line series are great. They are so handy and help us keep an overview.’Transparent and stackable
Justin nods in agreement. ‘I don't always agree with her, but this is true. We have the boxes in many rooms and in the garage. They are sturdy and stable, even if you stack a few tiers. What's in them? Tools, garden stuff, Eline's clothes from 2009, photo albums, DVDs, cleaning stuff and more. And my music collection, of course. Those boxes look nice too. They are transparent, so you can immediately see what's inside.’ Eline turns to Justin: ‘That way, you can save yourself the trouble of opening a box of cleaning stuff.’Justin laughs: ‘She was like that in the restaurant too, you know. I don't know Eline otherwise. I do like a bit of spunk. Maybe I learned that in oriental cuisine. We like living together very much. During the week, we are often busy with work and sports. But at the weekend we make more time for each other. To enjoy cooking together, for instance. My speciality? Indian, of course! That's where it all started in the end.’
